Here’s your ‘Fortune Feed’ for 16th April 2025 with a brilliant outcome for 15 Queenslanders winning a slice of the $70 million Oz Lotto and Lachlan Galvin rejecting the Tigers there’s been plenty happening. So, here’s your mate Joe Fortune bringing you the latest trending topics, Aussie sports news, and the hottest entertainment updates.
Strange Outcome for 15 Aussies
Before the big draw on Tuesday, The Lott was building up the hype, saying this jackpot was the second-biggest Oz Lotto prize of the year and the fourth largest ever in the game’s 31-year record.
History talks about a miracle at Easter time and here’s another one… Fifteen complete strangers from across the Sunshine State have all become instant millionaires after their syndicate ticket landed the entire $70 million Oz Lotto jackpot on Tuesday night. That’s right, $70 million, gone in one go like a party pie at a footy game.
The lotto gods shone down on a single syndicate ticket, randomly picked by punters who bought shares at 15 Golden Casket outlets stretching all the way from Townsville to the Gold Coast. The winning numbers for draw 1626 were 8, 13, 14, 23, 29, 32, and 41, with the supplementary numbers being 4, 40 and 43.
Each of the 15 Aussie legends will now be receiving about $4.7 million into their bank accounts. There are, however, a few lucky players out there who did not register their entries with The Lott and so with some of the unregistered tickets they might still be unaware they’re sitting on a golden nugget bigger than those found during the Gold Rush.
Oz Lotto’s draw had 47 little balls of which to have won the jackpot, players needed to land all seven of the first seven drawn and the odds of that were… 62, 891, 499 to 1.
Galvin Kicks Tigers
Rising NRL star Lachlan Galvin put out a statement explaining the reasons why he knocked back a contract extension with the Wests Tigers. It was brutal as he in effect has blamed the management of not being good enough… The Tigers have left Galvin out of their squad to play bottom of the table Parramatta on Easter Monday.
Pop star Katy Perry blasted off into space on a Blue Origin rocket, in the latest wave of space tourism for the rich and famous. The flight, which was organised by billionaire Jeff Bezos’ fiancée, Lauren Sanchez, was the first all-female flight crew in over six decades. On landing back on earth Perry might have started singing “I kissed the sky, and I liked it…”.
