Thaiday Wins Season 11
Sam Thaiday, the former Brisbane Broncos NRL star, has won I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here 2025! The show was on Network 10, Ten Play, and Paramount+, with the final wrapping up faster than anyone expected on Sunday, as Thaiday was crowned King of the Jungle before the grand finale even had time to properly sink in.
There wasn’t even the chance for a speech or thank you from the man himself, as the show ended moments later, frustrating many fans and viewers. Thaiday, alongside two-time Big Brother champ Reggie Bird and former Bachelor contestant Matty J, were the final three celebs standing in this year’s comp that saw big names, like Dave Hughes and Sigrid Thornton, eliminated early.
The footy legend has every reason to be bloody proud of his efforts, as he overcame many tough trials and challenges whilst in the jungle. In the final weekend, he got through the Hot Tub Slime Machine, which saw him smashed with rice and bugs being poured over his head. And who could forget when he had a go in the Squeezy Does It Challenge, where he stripped down to just his budgy smugglers…
At 39 years old, Thaiday quickly became one of the most popular contestants, but reality TV star Reggie Bird had her share of support and was the favourite going into the final weekend. After a tough month spent battling it out in the South African jungle, Thaiday took home the crown, along with $100,000 for his chosen charity, Find Ya Feet.
Spurs Edge Red Devils
In other trending topics in Australia, Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham team defeated Man United 1-0, with James Maddison scoring the only goal of the game, putting Spurs up to 12th on the ladder. Also, in LIV Golf news, Joaquin Niemann fired the day’s only bogey-free round, a 7-under 65, to surge past Abraham Ancer to win the LIV Adelaide tournament. But it wasn’t all bad news for Ancer, as his Fireballs GC team won the team event. The league has also confirmed it will remain in Adelaide until 2031!

G’day, it’s time for my ‘Super Fortune Feed’ for 10th February 2025. The Philadelphia Eagles were victorious at Super Bowl 59, along with Du Plessis winning at UFC 312 in Sydney. There’s been plenty of sport that we’ve been checking out recently. Eagles Soar to New Heights
Could the Kansas City Chiefs make history and land three Super Bowl wins in a row… the answer was emphatically no, as the Philadelphia Eagles put on a stunning first-half defensive performance by preventing Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City’s offensive line-up from scoring a single point.
The Eagles’ quarterback, Jalen Hurts, was the first player to touchdown early in the opening quarter, and from there it was all one-way traffic as the best defence team of the season took a 24-0 lead midway through the match. Then to the Half-Time Show, which didn’t disappoint and was a ripper, as Samuel L. Jackson hosted and voiced the narrative as part of the performance given by Kendrick Lamar and SZA.
Into the third quarter, and despite a touchdown by Xavier Worthy, things didn’t get much better for the Chiefs as the Eagles’ defence continued to close them out, and at three-quarter time, the score was 34-6. I’ll level with you, even the players looked like they all knew it was over by then. Despite Kansas City adding a couple of touchdowns in the last quarter, two field goals for the Eagles were more than enough to see out a 40-22 win.
As for the Gatorade shower, there was plenty of speculation about what colour it would be, and deep in the final quarter, all eyes were on the winning head coach, Nick Sirianni, as he was treated to a bright yellow soaking by a couple of his players.
So, there we have it, Philadelphia lifted the Vince Lombardi Trophy for just the second time in its history, having first claimed glory in 2017. There were plenty of famous faces in the crowd watching the game in New Orleans, including Rupert Murdoch, Taylor Swift, Donald Trump, and Paul McCartney.
UFC 312
In other trending topics in Australia, Dricus Du Plessis dominated Sean Strickland in their UFC title rematch in Sydney, winning by unanimous decision to claim his second victory over the champ in the 185-pound title fight. In Sri Lanka, our men’s cricket team won the second and final test to complete a 2-0 series win. Also, in overseas news, Ange Postecoglou is under pressure again as Tottenham lost 2-1 to Aston Villa and was knocked out of the FA Cup.

2025 Grammy Awards
Plenty happening on the red carpet at the Grammys this year, with Kanye West and his wife, Bianca Censori, apparently being asked to leave not long after arriving, and then Taylor Swift turned up wearing a bright red outfit, showing support for her partner Travis Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs, all before Trevor Noah hosted this year’s awards. With expected wins for Sabrina Carpenter and Charli XCX, the biggest surprise was the best country duo/group performance, which went to Beyoncé…
There were also a couple of wins for bands that were formed back in the 1960s, as The Rolling Stones won best rock album with Hackney Diamonds and The Beatles won a Grammy for best rock performance with its song Now and Then. St Vincent won the best rock song Grammy with Broken Man.
With Jon Batiste, Kendrick Lamar, and SZA all due to perform at the Super Bowl next week, the month has started bloody well for all three musicians, as Jon Batiste won a Grammy for best song written for visual media. Then, Kendrick Lamar got in on the action by winning best rap song and best rap performance. SZA took home the prize for the best R&B song.
Other winners on the night included Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars with Die with a Smile for best pop duo/group performance. Chappell Roan won best new artist, and Shakira took out the best Latin pop album. Host Trevor Noah missed out on the best comedy album, where Dave Chappelle was the winner with The Dreamer.
