Joe’s Guide to LIV Golf Adelaide 2025

Birdies, Bogeys and Balls, it’s time for your mate Joe Fortune to talk LIV golf and give you his fast and friendly guide to everything you need to know about the upcoming tournament. With this year’s league starting in February before heading to Australia later in the same month.

What is LIV Golf?

LIV Golf is a pro-golf league founded by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund and was officially launched in 2022. It is a bit like t20 cricket compared to Test Cricket and is aimed at disrupting the traditional golf world which has been run by the PGA Tour. The tournament is named after the Roman numeral LIV which stands for the number 54. Pretty smart as this is the total number of holes which each of the events consists of.

LIV also has brought innovative changes to each event with team-based competitions, guaranteed prize money, and a shorter, more condensed event schedule with loud crowds and plenty of music. If you want to get more details on how players score points, the differences from more traditional tournaments and what the new format looks like the LIV Golf website offers you the chance of having a deep dive.

Where is LIV Golf Australia Played?

LIV Golf is in Adelaide and takes place at the Grange Golf Club, which is located just 14 kms from the middle of Adelaide. It’s a renowned golf course in Australia, and one of the most popular ones in the country too. It was established in 1955 and has a rich history having hosted many prestigious events including the Australian Open and Australian PGA Championship. The LIV Adelaide event, one of the flagship rounds on the new golf-world calendar, has an electrifying atmosphere, with a more youthful crowd enjoying the fresh vibe and entertaining sports experience.

When is LIV Golf 2025 on in Australia?

This year the three-day event starts on Friday 14th February at 12:45pm local time, tee off on Saturday 15th February is at 11:45am and then on the final day the action starts on Sunday 16th February at 11:35am finishing in the late afternoon.
