Oasis Live ‘25: Joe’s Guide to Oasis Down Under

The last time that Noel and Liam Gallagher were Down Under and performing together was back in 2005. Now that the brothers have made peace and Oasis have reformed, your mate Joe Fortune is sharing his handy rundown on all you need to know about the legendary Britpop Band’s upcoming Australian Tour.

The Break-Up

After several years of fights, insults, conflicts, and internal brotherly bickering, the band finally imploded on 28 August 2009. It was just moments before they were scheduled to perform at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris. Noel has since said he regretted not performing that night and should have at least delivered a final set before pulling the plug. With many rumours and questions the band have not performed or recorded since and for the most part the brothers haven’t even been on speaking terms.

What’s The Story Since

After Oasis called it quits, Liam and the rest of the band (minus Noel) kept going under the name Beady Eye making a couple of albums before splitting up in 2014. Liam then kicked off a solo career, releasing three albums, with Paul Arthurs popping up every now and then to join him on tour. Meanwhile Noel launched his own solo project, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, and has put out four studio albums. Safe to say neither have hit the heights of success or fame they enjoyed whilst in Oasis.

Where and When To Watch Oasis in Australia

Oasis is coming as part of the band’s Live’25 World Tour with 3 nights in Melbourne at Marvel Stadium on 31 October, 1 November and 4 November. Then a few days later the group heads to Sydney where it will be performing on 7 November and 8 November at Accor Stadium. With demand having been huge you never know but the band might decide to add more dates to its tour so keep your eyes peeled and ears open in case more dates are added.

Mad for Tickets

The interest in tickets has been off the chart and from all report’s tickets have sold out. The good news is that whilst the band were accused of price hiking in other countries over here the cost of your ticket when you got into the online queue was what you paid. Prices have been between $180 and $410, with VIP packages starting at about $700.

If you’re looking to try and grab some of the action, the advice is to go to Ticketmaster as it has a fan-2-fan resale option so that you can be 100% sure what you’re paying for will get you into the gig.

Supernova Songs

Whilst the tour hasn’t started yet we have been given a heads up that the band will be playing all its classic hits from the 1990s, so dust down your CDs and get your copies of Definitely Maybe and What’s The Story Morning Glory playing loud on your stereos! It is safe to assume that the likes of Champagne Supernova, Live Forever, Wonderwall, Cigarettes and Alcohol, Supersonic and Don’t Look Back in Anger will all get on the set list.

Don’t rule out a few new songs too as whilst there’s been no official word that a new album is being made by the band, Liam has been dropping hints about new music on X. In September this year he said the new Oasis album is ‘good as finished’ and that he’s been blown away by the tunes his brother’s come up with.

Which Pubs to Visit in Australia For Oasis Live ‘25

If you’re heading to Marvel Stadium to see Oasis then you’ve got to find a venue with some decent refreshment and if you’re wanting to go large with your beers then the Munich Brauhaus, 45 South Wharf Promenade, South Wharf is a decent spot for lots of cold drinks to go with some tasty German snags.

For those of you going to Accor in Sydney I reckon you should head there early and head to  Paddy’s Brewery and Bar, 268 Parramatta Road, Homebush. Decent pub food with a ripper selection of draught beers that are served by the pint!

Best Pokies to Play

All this talk of Rock and Pop Stars has got me thinking which of my pokies would be worth giving a nudge and I’ve got a shortlist to recommend if you’re looking to get into the Oasis vibe… First up why not try Rock Star World Tour – simply spin the reels and see if you can rock out a loud winning return.

As you know Liam and Noel are both massive Man City fans and don’t mind having a few beers so how about having a few kicks on my Super Goals and Beers  pokie where hopefully you will score big wins and get some exciting cash re-spins!

What Beers to Drink

With the brother’s Irish heritage, you should have a Guinness before heading to the gig. Back in the day the band was often seen enjoying Stella Artois so be sure to put that on your list too. And why not give a bottle of Magners a try, as Liam has recently said he doesn’t mind a bit of cider these days… Now I am not suggesting, as Liam mentioned in an interview which went viral, that if you’re going out you should have 100 beers but it’s well worth having a few cold ones… and just quietly, all you fans should be drinking pints out of respect for the Britpop legends not a schooner, pot or middy.

Will Oasis Live ‘25 Australia Happen?

Yes! Definitely, no maybes. As you know your mate Joe Fortune is a punter, and will wager that even though the band will have been together for over a year before heading down under, the brothers won’t have another fall-out. So, if you’ve got tickets then you should be getting bloody excited about seeing Oasis in 2025. The Verve’s Richard Ashcroft has been confirmed as the supporting act as part of the UK tour, but it remains to be confirmed who will be heading to Australia as part of the gigs here.
